Empty red trading floor. The Nasdaq just entered a correction.

Fear wiped Wednesday’s midterm rally in under an hour. The Nasdaq closed at 24,315, down 5.5%, and about 11.9% below its October 6 close of 27,599.79. That is a correction. The S&P 500 fell 4.4% to 7,353.73. The Dow sank 1,833 points, or 3.4%, to 51,523.06. Chips and memory led: SanDisk down about 22%, AMD and Micron about 17%, Nvidia about 9.2%. Meta closed near $607, down about 3.6%.

Fear wiped the midterm rally in under an hour.

When markets panic this hard, opportunity shows up for people who keep a cool head.
